Undergraduate Study Group

Physical AI is a highly interdisciplinary field. Students often feel overwhelmed by how much there is to learn—from physics and robot modeling to learning algorithms and beyond.

If you are interested in joining Ro\(\Phi\) Lab for research in robotics and physical AI, we host a study group aimed mainly at undergraduate students. The goal is to build foundations early, at your own pace, with guidance from the lab.

How It Works

  1. Self-study. Students work through materials selected by the PI.
  2. Weekly peer session. The group meets once a week to discuss what you studied and help each other with questions.
  3. Office hours with the PI. Every one or two weeks, students collect questions the group could not resolve and meet with Prof. Lee in person for about 1–2 hours.

Who Should Join

  • Undergraduate students curious about robotics and physical AI
  • Students planning to apply to the lab who want to prepare systematically
  • Anyone who prefers structured self-study with peers and occasional PI feedback

  • Enrollment: Priority for upper-year students and those closer to graduation.
  • Flexible schedule: Meeting times can be adjusted during exam periods or when members are busy—we keep the group flexible rather than rigid.
